Meghan had a warm heart. The last summer she was in California, she went for a hot air balloon ride with me. When we passed over Fairbanks Ranch, a community of multi-million dollar homes, we noticed a maintenance building on a farm nearby. A group of six or so migrant workers were playing soccer in an open space in front of the building. She was appalled to learn that they lived in cardboard shacks next to a nearby creek.
Meghan was born in New Jersey, the middle child of three. Her golden curls and large blue eyes, rimmed with long dark lashes, made her a standout in any crowd. She was a bright child who made excellent grades in school and participated in sports.
Whether learning to sew or playing baseball, Meggie put her whole heart into everything she did.
